Prìncipe de Paz

Good Morning Everybody!

Wow...  Can I just tell you all that I am doing awesome?  Ok, I`m doing awesome.  In these days I am feeling great and I am enjoying the moment and I am enjoying the work.  I`ve been really calm.  I am in the last stretch of the mission, and I feel like I am floating on a still calm sea.  It`s awesome.
It was a crazy week here in Argentina.  At the start of the week it was really hot, and then lots of rain came and now it is cold outside.  The adversity of life is thrilling.  Sometimes it can be overwhelming, but they only make us stronger.  We have been focusing a lot on the Church`s Easter initiative, Prince of Peace.  We have been showing the video to people in the street, and it is a good time to hear people`s comments about Christ.  This week we visited a lot with the members, we shared the video with them and then we helped them share the video with their friends on Facebook and through other social media.  We are going to be passing by all of the members this week to see if they can help us find some investigators by their efforts to share the video.  If you haven`t seen it watch it now! (https://www.mormon.org/)  Every time that I have watched it, I have been filled with peace.  The Spirit testifies that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the world.  I know that He lived, He died, and He lived again.  I don`t have any proof of it, but I can feel it.  I feel like the Apostol Paul who taught the Galatians ``But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.``  I just know that Christ is there because I have felt it.  I am grateful for Him and His life and His resurrection.  He is the only way to have true peace in this life, He is the Prince of Peace.
2 Nephi 2: 8 ``Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.``
We need to share the knowledge that we have of the Savior with the whole world.  It is a great task, but shall we not go on in so great a cause?  I invite you all to share the video, Prince of Peace, with all of your friends and family!  Then we can help others feel as we feel.
I love you all!

Love,

Elder Maynard

Spiritual Rollercoaster

HOLA!!!
Wow.... is everyone on a spiritual rollercoaster after general conference?  That was totally awesome.  If you haven`t had the ride of a lifetime it is not too late.  I cannot remember who said it, maybe Elder Hales...  but the greatest blessings of general conference come shortly after the conference itself.  When we can all reread and rewatch the talks and we can continually be nourished by them.  So take advantage and feast upon the words of Christ.  ``Whether it is by my own voice or the voice of my servants, it is the same.``  I think that my most spiritual experience came this morning when I reread all of my conference notes.  I realized that I had received many answers to some questions that I had, but I didn`t realize it until I read my notes again!  I am grateful for the Spirit and that God teaches us through the spirit.  I loved all of the talks on the Holy Ghost.  I loved the reminder that we should act on the nudges from the Spirit.  We need to always listen and be on the Lord`s errand.  The Holy Ghost also helped my testimony grow this conference.  I received a confirmation that every word that was spoken came from God.  It didn`t matter who the speaker was, but the words were inspired from God and they could be applied to me.  I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth.  It is not the church of any man, but it is the church of the Lord.  I know He lives and I know that He loves us.  The conference was awesome.  Keep on enjoying it as you restudy the talks!
We are working with a family here in Mayoraz, Familia Cortez.  We are mainly teaching the mother and 2 of her daughters.  At first they were really tough to teach, but it amazing how they have changed.  The greatest miracle that we see now a days is a change of heart.  Well, they are slowly reading the scriptures and saying their prayers, and that is how the mighty change of heart all starts.  Graciela, the mom, and Guadalupe, one of the daughters was able to attend one of the conference sessions with us.  They seemed to be happy in the church.  I always ask them how they are and they just tell me that they are fine.  Guadalupe says that she is going to pray to know if she should be baptized.  That is what I like to hear!
Well I am doing great!  I just feel and see so many great blessings every day.  I thank you all for your love and prayers for my wellbeing!  I love you all!
Love,
Elder Maynard

Testimonio

Hey Everyone!
Wow... it was a super crazy week as I started my last transfer of the mission.  I have been feeling really weird because I am now one of the oldest missionaries in the field.  It seems like yesterday that everyone was calling me the youngin.  Now some are calling me the veteran.  Oh boy.  The mission is awesome.
I think that the best part of the week has been the opportunity to share my testimony.  In reality I share my testimony everyday but I had a few special occasions to do it this week.
New Missionaries:  I shared my testimony with all of the new missionaries.  I told them that the mission is the best thing that I have ever done.  They are going to love every second of it.  I have been thinking a lot about why I chose to serve a mission.  I chose to serve a mission because I prayed about the Book of Mormon and I was able to know that it is true.  I have also always felt the spirit as I have heard the first vision.  I know for sure that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.  But here in the mission I have gained a testimony of Jesus Christ.  I know that He lives and that He has carried me along the way.
Mission Council:  I shared my testimony in mission council and I was safe to tell everyone that the best convert in my mission was me.  I have been able to come to know for myself that these things are true.  I just hope to be a faithful servant of the Lord my whole life.  My whole life I hope to be worthy to enter the temple and I can do it because the power is within me.
Dorita:  I testified to a nice lady, Dorita, that families can be together forever.  This knowledge has comforted me during my whole mission.  I told her that it is possible through the work that is done in the temples.  She could feel a special spirit and she accepted a baptism date.  :)
Sacrament Meeting:  I gave a talk in sacrament.  I testified of Christ and His atonement.  I testified that His atonement is real because I have been able to be a participant of it.  it is marvelous. Isaiah 1: 18 ´´Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.´´
I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  I have been called by Him to declare His word among all people so that they can have eternal life.  It has been a blessing to be able to share my testimony with all.  I will be trying to fuel my testimony as much as I can during these last 5 weeks and during my whole life!
Una vez más, una vez menos, I love you all!  Til next week
