When September Ends...

Buenas Tardes!!!!

Como andan ustedes? Bien? Bueno Bueno.  This week flew by extremely fast, just like they normally do.  We work really hard everyday, planting seeds and moving dirt around in the Lord`s vineyard. Maybe I`ll be part of the harvest at some point of my mission, but not right now.  I`m absolutely fine with it. Someones gotta do the dirty work, right?  And that`s what I like... a challenge. hahaha We had some good experiences this week.  We got a new investigator! Whooooo! That is a miracle all in itself haha  Her name is Marcela and she recently moved here to Esperanza.  She has spoken with missionaries before and she likes the Church! Bueno.  We taught her the Restoration and she wants to be baptized!  Bueno.  She made us delicious coconut, dulce de leche treats! Muy Bueno.  And just like every other Argentine she is juntada.  Malo.   People here just don`t see the importance of getting married para nada.  Its really sad.  The family is the most important thing on this earth and it all starts with Marriage!  Listen up all you kids out there.... Get married. (By kids I mean my older sister Brittney;) haha  Anyway....  Que estoy diciendo?  Estoy loco la mayorìa del tiempo, perdonenme.  Also, we eat lunch with Branch President Spies every week, and this time he asked us `What brings you guys the most joy?` We responded with two things.  1.  We have the most joy when we are in the service of others.  When we are in the service of our fellow men we are only in the service of our God.  Service brings the spirit and peace.  Christ just served his whole life.  What a great example for all of us.  2.  The Atonement brings joy.  I invite you all to read Alma 36, because Alma`s testimony of the Atonement is amazing.  There is Hope through Christ!  We can be clean again, our burden`s can be lifted, and we can return to live with our Heavenly Father all through the Atonement.  THAT is JOY.  Pues, queridos I hope you enjoy the last few days of the best month of the year, September.  and Happy Birthday to Aunt Cara this week!!!!  I hope you all enjoy conference next week too! I`m so excited.  My testimony of a living prophet to lead us and guide us has grown a ton.  He speaks on behalf of our Savior!  The church is true everyone.  Love you all.

Love,

Elder Maynard

Primavera Primavera Primavera

Hola queridos!!!

It is spring time here and I`m excited.  The weather is just perfect right now, and I`m enjoying it.  The mission is awesome.  Our investigators are progressing slowly, but its just rewarding helping them know the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I tell myself we are just planting seeds like crazy.  Hopefully one day they will grow into great big trees hahaha Cheesy analogy.  On Friday we were having a rough day.  The streets were empty because of the siesta and we were just having no success.  I get really excited in these moments because I know miracles come after the trial of faith haha So I was eating up the rejection and counted 14 people in a row that just told us no.  We were riding our bikes around and we saw a woman sweeping her doorstep.  We stopped, I finished sweeping her doorstep for her while she brought out chairs so we could sit down.  We taught her the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The spirit was awesome.  I know the church is true! Long story short we committed her to be baptized and we are going to visit her this week.  Moral of the story, God gives us trials in life.  There are times when it is hard and we all want to quit, but we have to keep pushing forward with faith, and that is when the blessings come.  Miracles don´t happen until after the trial of faith.  Sometimes we have to walk blind, but our savior is leading us and guiding us and even walking beside us.  I love my savior and am grateful that he died for me.  I will follow him til the end.  I love you all and hope that you all have better weeks.
